The ceremony will be lit for the first time on Wednesday, December 1st, with live performances from 7—9 pm, at Rockefeller Plaza, between West 48th and West 51st Streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Why are they waiting so late to light the tree this year??? The ceremony always falls on Wednesday after Thanksgiving.

Are there any all night attractions after the tree lighting? Will leave early the next morning to travel back to NC. I am going to NYC for Thanksgiving weekend. I just read that the tree will not be lit until Dec 4th, would I at least be able to see it? Typically, however, you can expect the lighting ceremony to take place the Wednesday after Thanksgiving.
